Sandau, Ploskonka Play United Soccer League (5/10/06)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana
State-Billings women’s soccer players Mandy Ploskonka and
Brittney Sandau have been added to the United Soccer Leagues
roster for the summer schedule. The United Soccer League is the
highest league in the United States for women’s soccer. Both
Ploskonka and Sandau will be playing for teams located in the
Western Conference, which is one of the top conferences in the
country.
Brittney Sandau (Jr., F, Billings, MT) should see plenty of
turf time as she sports the Fort Collins Force uniform.
Sandau’s teammate Mandy Ploskonka (Fr., MF, Federal Way, WA) has chosen to
play for the Seattle Sounder Saints. Ploskonka made the Saints
team as a developmental player and should learn valuable skills
playing with veteran players. The Saints and Force meet Friday,
June 23 in Seattle.
The Lady Jacket soccer team
finished the season 11-5-2 and competed at the Heartland
Conference Tournament. Sandau ended her 2005 season starting 17
of 18 games, accumulating 19 points. Sandau had one assist and
finished in a tie for first for most goals scored on the team
with nine. Ploskonka was named Heartland Conference Freshman of
the Year and started all 18 games for the Jackets. Ploskonka
totaled 11 points off four goals and three assists. |
