Montalban Top Finisher for Lady Jackets (2/25/06)
SAN ANTONIO, TX- The Montana
State-Billings women’s golf team traveled to San
Antonio, Texas February 25 and 26 to compete in the Lady
Rattler Hill Country Classic hosted by St. Mary’s (TX).
The 5,865-yard course was a par 72. The Lady Jackets
finished eighteenth in their first rounds of the spring
season shooting a combined 744 (370, 374).
Western Washington University took
top honors in the Classic shooting 307 and 298 for 605.
Western Washington shot 6-stokes better than second
place Northeastern State (611). Drury University shot a
combined 637 for third. Fourth, fifth and sixth place
were separated by only three strokes.
The Jackets were paced by Halley Montalban (So., Billings, MT) who shot a
10-over 82 in round one and a 14-over 86 in round two
for a combined 168. Montalban finished in a tie for 47th. Emily
Maag (So., Billings, MT)
shot a 91 and 90 for 181 to end in a tie for 71st. Jessica Boyer (Fr., Billings, MT)
shot rounds of 104 and 97 (201), good for 87th place. Nicole Salsbery (So., Malta, MT) shot a 21-over par
93 and 110 for a combined 203 to tie for 89th. Karrie
Brack (So., Livingston, MT)
went 117 and 101 (218) to end in 94th place.
