Lady Jackets Sign Transfer Post Player (5/3/06)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings
women’s basketball coach Kevin Woodin announced this week that
Adrienne Green has signed a national letter of intent to play
for the Lady Yellowjackets next season. Green joins a
recruiting class of four high school seniors that signed during
the NCAA early signing period in November.
Green is a 2004 graduate of Reed Point High
School. The 6-foot-3 post played two seasons at Sheridan
College where she earned all-sub region, all-conference, and
all-region honors. As a sophomore Green averaged 15 points and
eight rebounds a game at Sheridan.
At Reed Point HS, Green was a four-year
letter winner in volleyball and basketball. She earned
all-conference and all-state honors in basketball and
all-conference honors in volleyball. As a senior she averaged
17 points and eight rebounds a game to lead the Pirates to
district and divisional titles and a runner up finish at the
State C Tournament.
“Adrienne will help us immediately,” said
Woodin. “She improved consistently during her career at
Sheridan, and I expect her to make a positive impact on our
team. She is a quality student-athlete, and she will provide a
great low post presence for us on both ends of the floor.”
The Yellowjackets were 18-9 overall during
the 2005-2006 season. They were Heartland Conference regular
season co-champions in their first year in the league. During
the NCAA’s early signing period, Woodin inked Laura Beach of
Baker, Mont., Dani Henderson of Reed Point, Mont., Shantell
Marquis of Cascade, Mont., and Mandy Jacobs of Shepherd, Mont. |
