Watson Earns All-Tournament Honors (9/4/05)
GOLDEN, CO – Montana State-Billings
volleyball player Ali Watson was named to the Days Inn Denver West/Oredigger Classic
All-Tournament team on Sunday. Watson, a junior outside hitter
from Calgary, Alberta, led the Yellowjackets to a 2-2 record at
the tournament.
The first-year Yellowjacket has already had a
huge impact on the court this season. A transfer from Sheridan
College, Watson was the tournament MVP at the Arkansas Tech
Invitational last week, earning Heartland Conference hitter of the
week honors.
At the Colorado School of Mines tournament
this weekend, Watson averaged 5.57 kills and 5.36 digs per game,
both team highs. She had matches of 21, 23, 17, and 17 kills.
Her 23 kills against Colorado Mines were a season high. She also
had a season-high 26 digs in the win over Colorado State-Pueblo.
For the year Watson is averaging 4.80 kills and 4.67 digs per
game.
The Yellowjackets next play at the
Montana-Western Invitational in Dillon on September 9-10.
