Yellowjacket Men Drop Third Straight (9/2/05)

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The Montana State-Billings men’s soccer team dropped its third game of the season on Friday, losing to Cal State-Monterey Bay, 3-2 in double overtime, at the Westminster College tournament.  The Yellowjackets fell to 0-3-0 while the Otters improved to 1-0-0.  The Yellowjackets face Colorado-Colorado Springs at noon on Saturday.  They will wrap up the tournament on Sunday against host Westminster at 2:00 p.m.

MSU Billings jumped to a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Dustin Kono (Sr., Aberdeen, SD) in the thirteenth minute.  The Yellowjackets took the 1-0 lead into halftime.  The Otters tied the game with a goal in the 58^th minute and took a 2-1 advantage with another goal in the 60^th minute.  MSU Billings was able to tie the game in the 68^th minute to force overtime.  Kono scored his second goal of the game.  He was assisted by Josh Hernandez (So., Palmdale, CA).  CSU-Monterey Bay scored the game winner with four minutes remaining in the second overtime.
