Munoz Receives Heartland Honor (12/13/05)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings senior Cameron Munoz has been named the Heartland Conference men’s
basketball player of the week. Munoz shared the honor with David
Lunn of St. Edward’s University.
Munoz averaged 31.5 points per game in two
wins against cross-town rival Rocky Mountain College last week.
In the Yellowjackets’ 102-92 home win on Thursday, he dropped in
27 points while hitting 7-of-14 from 3-point range. In Saturday’s
100-76 win at Rocky’s Fortin Center, Munoz scored 36 and made
6-of-13 from behind the arc.
For the week Munoz was 20-of-41 from the
field and 13-of-27 from long range. Through four games this
season he leads the Heartland Conference in scoring at 27.5 ppg.
He also leads the conference in 3-point shooting, averaging 6.0
made 3-pointers per game. Munoz needs just 10 points to climb to
eighth on the school’s all-time scoring list. He has 1,378 career
points and is second on the school record list for 3-pointers with
328.
The Yellowjackets are idle this week. They
next play on December 19 when they host 20th-ranked
Emporia State (KS) at Alterowitz Gymnasium. |
