Yellowjacket Golfers Take to the Road (3/31/06)
BILLINGS, MT – Although Billings
has been lucky enough to have golfing weather of its
own, both the Montana State-Billings men’s and women’s
golf teams will head separate directions to compete in
their respective invitational’s April 1-4.
The Lady Jackets just completed
competition at the Grand Canyon Invite and will now
travel to Amarillo, Texas to play in the 36-hole Subway
Invitational hosted by West Texas A&M University. The
invitational will be held at the Tascosa Country Club.
Joining the Lady Jackets and host team Buffalo’s
include, Cameron University, University of Central
Oklahoma, College of the Southwest, University of
Nebraska-Kearney, Oklahoma Panhandle State, Tarleton
State, University of Texas-Dallas, and Western New
Mexico University.
The Yellowjackets’ Nick Larson is
coming off a fourth place finish in last weeks
invitational in Edmond, Oklahoma. Larson shot a
two-under par for the tournament and led his team to a
tenth place finish in the team competition. The Jackets
will take part in the Colorado School of Mines/Regis
University Invitational April 2 and 3. Sunday’s rounds
will be played at the par 72 Bear Creek Golf Course.
Monday’s final round of 18 will be played at the Fox
Hollow Golf Course. Joining the Yellowjackets and host
teams Regis and School of Mines include, Colorado
Christian, UC-Colorado Springs and Fort Hays. Adams
State will send individual players.
The Yellowjackets are leading up to
the Heartland Conference Championships April 17 and 18.
Oklahoma Panhandle will host the championships in
Amarillo, Texas. |
