Yellowjacket Baseball to Give Sneak Peak This Weekend (10/6/05)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings
baseball team will have its first public scrimmage this weekend at
Cobb Field. The “Yellowjacket Fall World Series” will feature up
to five intrasquad games beginning with three over the weekend at
Cobb Field
Saturday will feature a doubleheader
beginning at noon at Cobb Field. The teams will meet again on
Sunday at noon at Cobb Field. Admission is free to all games.
Unless one team sweeps all three games on the weekend, the best of
five series will be concluded Monday at Pirtz Field.
“The Yellowjacket World Series is chance for
the community to come out and get a sneak peak at the new team in
town,” said Yellowjacket head coach Chris Brown. “It is also a
chance for the community to get out to the ballpark one more time
this year, meet the players, and watch a little October baseball
live. It is a five game intrasquad series where the losers have
to cook, serve dinner, and cater to the winners while they watch a
playoff baseball game.”
The Yellowjackets, playing their first
baseball in nearly three decades, are scheduled to open the
regular season February 18 when the face Colorado Christian in
Denver. The home opener at Cobb Field is slated for March 17
against Northwest Nazarene University. |
