MSUB Baseball Signs Transfer (6/30/06)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana
State-Billings head baseball coach Chris Brown announced this
week that the Jackets would add another pitcher to its staff for
the 2007 season. Mitch Braun will join the Yellowjackets after
one season at Treasure Valley Community College and one season
at Yavapai Community College.
Braun is a Billings, Montana
native and graduated from Billings West High School in 2004.
The six-foot southpaw pitcher was a member of the 2006 second
place junior college World Series team. Braun also played for
the Billings Scarlets legion baseball team, taking second the
last two seasons played. At Yavapai CC, Braun hit a .295
batting average.
“We are excited to have Mitch
join our program,” said Brown. “He is a talented athlete that
brings a lot to the table in that he has the ability to play
anywhere in the outfield and also gives us another southpaw on
the pitching staff. Mitch has played for two very good junior
college programs as well as for the Billings Scarlets so he
knows what it takes to be successful. I look for him to make an
immediate impact in the field, at the plate, and on the mound.” |
