Robertson Leads Yellowjackets in First XC Meet (Sept. 11, 2004)
RAPID CITY, SD – Senior Heidi
Robertson finished fourth in her first collegiate
cross-country race to lead the Montana
State-Billings Yellowjackets in the first meet of
the season. Robertson, a four-year standout on the
women’s soccer team, finished the 5K course in
21:03.
The Yellowjacket women still
finished fourth at the four team meet, three points
behind Dickinson State and 38 points behind winner
Black Hills State. Robertson was joined in the top
ten by Chelsea Lynnes, who placed sixth in 21:33.
Rounding out the Lady Jackets’ scoring places were
Tiffany Piplica in eleventh place in 22:10, Diana
Davis in 23rd place in 22:55, Mandy Brown
in 31st place in 24:07, Kristy Burns in
35th place in 24:42, and Tracie Overberg
in 37th place in 24:56.
The Yellowjacket men also
finished in fourth place, well behind third place
Dickinson State. Black Hills also won the men’s
race. Scott Brown was the Jackets’ highest finisher
in sixteenth place. He completed the 8K course in
30:41. The remaining Yellowjacket scorers were Sam
Hartpence in 22nd place in 31:13, Jarred
Rensvold in 27th place in 32:29, Ryan
Archibald in 28th place in 32:41 and Joe
Kragt in 34th place in 34:02.
Both Yellowjacket teams will
travel to the Dickinson State Invitational for a
rare Friday meet on September 17. |
