Yellowjackets Meet Rocky for Rimrock Cup Championship (Oct. 18 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State University
women’s soccer team will meet Rocky Mountain College on Thursday
for the final game of the Rimrock Cup. Returning home with
split road-games, the Lady Jackets are now 10-4-2 on the
season. Rocky Mountain Lady Bears are currently 7-6 for their
season coming off with a 2-0 win over University of Mary last
weekend.
The Yellowjackets remain unbeaten at home
8-0-1 and have goals scored by twelve of the seventeen players.
Leading the Yellowjackets is Margot Merrill-Johnson (Sr., MF, Salt Lake City, UT) with
eight goals, six assists and 22 points. Teammate Ally
Taylor (So., MF, Ojai, CA) follows close behind with eight
goals, five assists and 21 points.
Alyssa Wolfer (So., F, Longmont, CO) is third for goals
scored at five on the season with three assists and 13 points.
Freshman Brittany Sandau (Fr. F, Billings, MT) has three goals, is
tied with Merril-Johnson with six assists and has earned 12
points.
Goalkeeper Megan Plank (So., GK, Phoenix, AZ) has four shut outs on the
season with a .817 save percentage.
The first game of the Rimrock Cup was
played at College of Technology field September 12th,
where the Lady Jackets had a 7-2 win over the Lady Bears. The
tournament play will end in a win for the Yellowjackets if they
tie or win their game against Rocky. If Rocky Mountain wins,
the Cup Champion will be determined immediately following the
game in a shootout with each school taking five shots each.

Wendy’s field Thursday October 21st at 2:30 p.m. |
