Lady Yellowjackets Back in West Region Women’s Soccer Poll (Oct. 5, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT – After two wins over the
weekend, the Montana State-Billings women’s soccer team climbed
back into the NSCAA Far West Region Top 10 on Tuesday. The
Yellowjackets are ranked tenth this week. It is the third week
they have been ranked this season, with two weeks at No. 10 and
one week at No. 9.
MSU Billings defeated Minnesota-Crookston 2-0
last Saturday and followed with a 2-1 overtime win over Northern
State on Sunday. Northern State was ranked No. 10 in the Central
Region at the time.
Seattle Pacific remained the top team in the
Far West Region and also moved up to No. 1 in the national top 25
poll. Seattle is No. 2 in the region and No. 10 in the nation.
MSU Billings is 8-3-1 overall this season, with losses at Seattle
Pacific, Seattle and Western Washington (ranked No. 9 in the
region).
The Yellowjackets continue their home stand
this weekend when they host Jamestown College and Grand Canyon
University. MSU Billings will face Jamestown at 2:00 p.m. on
Saturday and Grand Canyon at 1:00 on Sunday.
