Women’s Golf to Compete at Rattler Classic (March 1, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State
University-Billings women’s golf team is set to compete
in the 2005 Lady Rattler Hill Country Classic March 4
and 5 in Boerne, Texas. The 36-hole tournament will be
played at Tapatio Springs Resort with St. Mary’s
University hosting the event.
Nineteen teams will partake in the
tournament. Joining the Lady Jackets and host Rattlers
will be Trinity University, Northwood University, TAMU-Commerce,
WTAMU, University of Central Oklahoma, Cal-State Chico,
Tarleton State University, Texas A&M International
University, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor,
UT-Brownsville, St. Edward’s University, University of
the Incarnate Word, Newman University, Western
Washington University, Arkansas Tech University,
Northeastern State University, and TCU-Jr. Varsity.
As a team, the Lady Jackets shot a
328 at the fall 2004 Rocky Mountain Invite and will be
looking to put up low numbers this season. Senior,
Nicole Clayton (Sr., Wolf Point, MT) begins her final
season as a Yellowjacket and is ranked fifth on the team
with a 97.8 fall scoring average. Team captain Amanda
Rabenberg (Jr., Livingston, MT) had the second lowest
scoring average on the team during the fall with 90.6.
Julie Clifford (Jr., Forsyth, MT) led the team in
scoring last spring putting up a team low round of 83 at
the Grand Canyon Tournament held in Phoenix. Clifford
scored an average 91.3 for the fall season.
After the women return from their
road trip, both men and women Yellowjacket teams will
finish the second half of their Collegiate Cup dual with
Rocky Mountain College. Play is scheduled for March 14
and 15 at the Jackets home course at Briarwood Golf
Course and Club. |
