Lady Jackets Ranked Nationally in Seven Stats Categories (Jan. 25, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings
women’s basketball team, ranked nationally all year for numerous
defensive team statistics, is also ranked by the NCAA for three
offensive categories this week. The Yellowjackets host Western
Oregon on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Alterowitz Gym.
The Yellowjackets are ranked seventeenth for
field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to a 34.4 percent
average. MSU Billings is among the national leaders for team
field goal percentage, ranking eighteenth at 46.0 percent. The
Lady Jackets are also ranked 22nd for scoring margin
(+14.9), 25th for rebound margin (+7.6), 37th for free throw percentage (74.0), 43rd for scoring
defense (58.1), and 43rd for 3-pointers per game (6.3).
Individually, senior Robyn Milne (Richey, MT)
ranks ninth in the country for blocked shots per game at 3.6.
Last week she moved up to No. 23 in NCAA Division II history for
career blocked shots with 235. Milne also ranks 12th for field goal percentage (42.0) and 22nd for rebounds
per game (10.2). Guard Shannon Harvey (So., Billings, MT) is
eighteenth in the nation for 3-point field goal percentage at
42.0.
The Yellowjackets were ranked ninth in last
week’s NCAA West Region poll. The next regional poll will be
released on January 26. |
