SILVER CITY, NM – The Montana
State University-Billings volleyball team finished its season
falling to Western New Mexico University 3-2. The Jackets
finish their season with the first winning record in school
history, ending 14-11 on the season and 4-6 in PacWest
Conference play. The Mustangs improved to 22-10 after rallying
from a 2-1 deficit to win 30-26, 25-30, 28-30, 30-27, 15-10.
Sophomore Jessica Bratton (So., OH, Casper, WY) had a blistering night with a team leading
25 kills and a .265 hitting percentage. Bratton had 33 kills
Friday against the Mustangs and 102 kills in the last four
matches. This ranks Bratton third in the PacWest Conference
with an average of 4.65 kills per game. Bratton also tied her
own record with five blocks in a single match.
Teammate Olivia Munro (Sr.,
OH, Toronto, Canada) had 23 kills in the match with a team high
30 digs. Munro ends her career with 1,348 digs ranking her
second in school history. Munro also holds the school record
for kills finishing her career with 1,288.
Andrea Donahue (Sr., MB,
Whitefish, MT) had a .333 hitting percentage for the night with
14 kills. The Yellowjackets had a .206 team hitting percentage
beating out the Mustangs .187 hitting percentage. Donahue led
the Jackets with six blocks in the match.
Sophomore Natalie Bills (So.,
S, Provo, UT) had a double-double with 63 assists and 16 digs in
Saturday’s game.
The Mustangs were led by Liz
Narkon with 24 kills. Teammate Jennifer Snowbarger had 20 kills
on the evening with a .241 hitting percentage. Lauren Annicker
led the team with 32 digs. |
