Jackets Climbing NCAA Stats Rankings (Apr. 20, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – Four different Montana
State-Billings softball players are ranked in the nation’s
top 45 by the NCAA in this week’s Division II statistical
rankings. The Yellowjackets are ranked eighteenth in the
nation for team batting average at .324.
Joey
Ehnes (Sr., Great Falls, MT) is ranked in the top 20
in two pitching categories. She is eighth for victories
with 22 and sixteenth for strikeouts per seven innings at
8.8. She earned her 22nd win last week,
setting a new school record. She also eclipsed the 600
career strikeouts mark.
Theresa Campbell (Sr., Great Falls, MT) has homered in
four of her last six games to jump to 24th nationally for home runs per game at 0.26. Her 10 home
runs this season lead the PacWest Conference and are a new
school record. She is also 42nd in the nation
for slugging percentage at .698.
Cami
Rainey (Sr., Terreton, ID) is ranked in three
different offensive categories. The Jackets’ leadoff
hitter is eighteenth in the country for doubles per game
at 0.41 and 34th for batting average at .432.
Rainey leads the Jackets with 39 runs, ranking her 38th nationally for runs per game at 1.0.
Rachel Quarnburg (So., Billings, MT) is the
Yellowjackets’ leading hitter, batting .463 in her first
season with the team. That is good enough to rank her
nineteenth in the nation for batting average.
The Yellowjackets are idle this week,
returning to action on Monday, April 25 against Minot
State. The first game of the doubleheader is set for
11:30 a.m. at Cenex Stadium. |
