Hanley Earns PacWest Player of the Week Honor (Apr. 4, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings
senior Sara Hanley was named Pacific West Conference
Co-Player of the Week on Monday. Hanley was one of four
PacWest players to earn all-tournament honors at the
Easton Tournament of Champions in Modesto, Calif., over
the weekend. The four players shared the conference
player of the week award.
Hanley batted .529 for the
tournament, going 9-for-17. She also scored two runs and
drove in an RBI. With two walks and just one strikeout,
Hanley had a .579 on base percentage.
The
third baseman from Kalispell, Mont., increased her season
average to .290 and her career average to .287. She is
currently second in school history for career batting
average and is in the top four for runs scored, total
hits, doubles, triples, and runs batted in.
The Yellowjackets open their home
conference schedule on Tuesday when they host Chaminade
University at 3:00 and 5:00 at Cenex Stadium. The Jackets
and Silverswords meet again Wednesday at 3:00 and 5:00
also. |
