Yellowjacket Softball Finishes Fall Season (Oct. 9, 2004)
BILLINGS, MT - MSU Billings softball
closed out its fall season with a Blue-Gold game at Cenex
Stadium with the Gold winning, 4-3.
Jordan Waverek (4 innings) started
and Megan McCrae (3 innings) closed on the pitching rubber
for the Gold as they scattered 8 hits in the win. Christy
Wankel, who was 2-3 on the day, was the hitting star for
Gold. The junior centerfielder from Great Falls broke open
the 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fourth with a single to
centerfield field scoring Aysha Blatter and Jordan Waverek.
Pitchers Joey Ehnes and Stephanie
Cochrun scattered 8 hits in the loss. Layne Pavey was 2-3
for Blue with an RBI double.
The Yellowjackets were 6-2-1 vs.
outside opponents this fall and will open their spring
season on February 26-27 at an Indoor Tournament at St.
Cloud State in Minnesota. |
