Yellowjackets’ Ehnes Earns Player of the Week Honors (Feb. 28, 2005)

Ehnes kicked off her senior campaign with a big
weekend and earned PacWest Player of the Week honors on
Monday.
Ehnes, a pitcher/infielder from Great
Falls, MT, helped the Yellowjackets go 3-2 at the St.
Cloud State Husky Dome Classic. The two losses were to 4th-ranked
St. Cloud State and 19th-ranked Emporia State.
Ehnes was 3-1 with a 1.71 ERA in five
appearances. She pitched 28 2/3 innings and struck out 45
batters with just five walks. Her only loss of the week
was a 2-1 decision to Emporia State. Ehnes already holds
every pitching record in the program’s history. Her 45 Ks
pushed her over the 400 mark for her career with 413.
At the plate, Ehnes batted .400 in
five games. She was 6-for-15 with two runs and two RBI.
She also drew two walks and stole a base.
The Yellowjackets travel to
Washington this week for a number of games. They will
face Humboldt State and Central Washington on Thursday in
Richland before playing in the Central Washington
Invitational March 4-6. |
