Yellowjackets Fall to Whitman, 0-9 (Mar. 28, 2005)
BOISE, ID - The Montana State
University-Billings men’s tennis team traveled to Boise,
Idaho March 23-26 to compete against an array of
nationally ranked tennis teams from across the country.
In the Jackets second match of the day, they came up
short against a strong division three team from Walla
Walla, Washington falling 0-9.
After playing the morning match
against New Mexico State indoors due to inclement
weather, the Jackets found themselves back outside under
clearing skies to take on the Fighting Missionaries of
Whitman College.
“Sergio Diaz played well during the
match, as did Ryan Smith,” said head coach, Jerry
Peach. “They gave the team a look at how to raise the
competitive spirit as they worked to gain team points.
However, Whitman was too strong of a team for us today,”
Peach added.
The Yellowjackets will have
Thursday off and will resume match play against Northern
Arizona on Friday.
