BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State
University-Billings men’s soccer team fell to Si Tanka
University, 2-0, Friday to kick off the MSU Billings
Tournament. The Yellowjackets are now 5-9-0 on the season.
The tournament will continue Saturday with Si Tanka (7-2-1)
facing Grand Canyon (0-12-1) and conclude Sunday with the
Yellowjackets hosting Grand Canyon.
The first goal was scored at 30:26 in the
first half of play coming off a through ball by Khaffid
Peacock to Malik Rashaad of the Screaming Eagles who went
one-on-one with the goalkeeper and put it in the net. The
Screaming Eagles scored their second goal at 65:50 on a cross
in front of the goal, into the left corner of the net. Travis
Yoakum assisted to Khaffid Peacock.
The Yellowjackets had 27 shots in the
game to the Screaming Eagles’ 17. Yellowjacket goalkeeper
Jess Feldtman (Jr., GK, Lander, WY) had four saves on the day.
“We had a game plan today and stuck to
it,” said head coach Doug Seigle. “We took a lot of shots and
were just unable to put it in the goal. We made some mistakes
and the Screaming Eagles took advantage of them. Overall, I
am proud of the guys; they played hard and did what we worked
on.”
The Yellowjackets are back in action on
Sunday, October 10, where they meet the Grand Canyon ‘Lopes at
3:00 p.m. at the MSU Billings College of Technology. Si Tanka
and Grand Canyon meet at noon on Saturday.
