Yellowjacket Soccer Loses at Seattle Pacific (Sept. 28, 2004)

SEATTLE, WA – The Montana State-Billings
men’s soccer team dropped its third-straight game, losing 5-1
at Seattle Pacific on Tuesday evening. The Yellowjackets fell
to 4-7-0 overall while the tenth-ranked Falcons improved to
8-1-1 and extended their unbeaten streak to nine games.
The Falcons out shot the Jackets 16-8 and
scored on their first shot of the game, a volley from Andy
Willis, in the 11th minute. Five different players
scored for SPU in the game. Two of the goals came in a three
minute span just before halftime to give the Falcons a 3-0
lead at the break.
The Yellowjackets threatened just once in
the first half when Greg McKeever’s (Fr., D, Kirkland, WA) shot hit the left
post in the 26th minute. The Jackets avoided the
shutout with only 75 seconds remaining in the game on Matt
D’Hont’s (Fr., F, Rapid City, SD) 15-yard shot into the
upper right corner. The goal was D’Hont’s first of the
season. Brian Palmer (Sr., F, Laramie, WY) assisted on the goal
for his second assist and eighth point of the season.

Bales (Sr., MF/GK, Cody, WY) played his fifth game in goal
for the Yellowjackets, making three saves.
MSU Billings returns home this weekend
for the second annual Futbol Frenzy Weekend. The
Yellowjackets host Colorado School of Mines on Saturday and
Westminster College on Sunday. Both games kick off at 2:30
p.m. at the College of Technology. |
