Larson’s Top 10 Leads Jacket Men (Apr.

TURLOCK, CA – Nicholas
Larson shot a 1-under 71 in Tuesday’s final round at the
Buzzini/Stanislaus Invitational to lead the Montana
State-Billings men to an eleventh place finish. The
freshman from Riverton, Wyo., carded rounds of 73, 74 and
71 to finish in a tie for ninth place. As a team the
Yellowjackets finished with a 47-over 911 with rounds of
303, 305, and 302.
Cal State-Stanislaus
ran away with the team title, shooting a 3-under 861. Cal
State-Bakersfield was second with an 8-over 872. The
highest placing PacWest Conference team was Hawaii-Hilo in
seventh with a 32-over 896. The Jackets placed higher
than Western New Mexico, which finished thirteenth at
52-over 916. Those three schools plus Chaminade, BYU-Hawaii
and Hawaii Pacific will meet for the PacWest Championships
in Hilo, HI on April 21-23.
Hawaii-Hilo’s Garrett
Okamura finished sixth with an even-par 216. His teammate
Nick Mason was tied with Larson for ninth. The Jackets’
Zach Abels made a big jump in the final round from 77th to 62nd, finishing at 18-over 234.
