Jackets’ Windy Boy, Munoz Near Top of NCAA 3-Point Shooting (Jan. 4, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – In the first men’s basketball
statistical rankings of the year by the NCAA, Montana
State-Billings guards Buddy Windy Boy and Cameron Munoz are ranked second and third respectively for
3-pointers per game. Windy Boy, a junior from Lodge Grass, MT, is
averaging 4.7 made 3-pointers per game. Munoz, a junior from
Chino, CA, is averaging 4.6. Grand Canyon’s Prileu Davis leads
the nation with a 5.1 average.
The Yellowjackets (8-1) are ranked in four
team categories. They are third for 3-pointers per game (11.1)
and fifth for scoring average (94.8). MSU Billings also ranks 29th for 3-point percentage (40.5) and 43rd for scoring
margin (+12.1).
Windy Boy also ranks fifth in the nation for
3-point percentage at 53.2 percent. Munoz is ranked in two other
categories. He is 15th for free throw percentage
(89.5) and 19th for scoring average (21.6).
The Yellowjackets begin Pacific West
Conference play on Tuesday at Chaminade. Tip off for that game is
10:30 p.m. MST. They play at Hawaii-Hilo on Thursday and
Saturday. All three games are scheduled to be aired on AM 970
