Yellowjackets Sign Transfer Forward (Apr. 27,
2005)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings men’s
basketball coach Craig Carse announced Wednesday that Moritz
Wohlers has signed a national letter of intent to play for the
Yellowjackets next season. Wohlers is a 6-foot-9, 252 pound
forward from Wolfenbuttel, Germany.
Wohlers will be a senior next season after
playing two seasons at Lewis and Clark Junior College and one
season at McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois. The German
native graduated from Benton High School in Benton, Illinois after
coming to the United States as an exchange student. He graduated
from Benton in 2002.
At Lewis and Clark, Wohlers averaged 19
points and 9 rebounds a game to earn all-conference and all-region
honors. He helped his team to the national tournament where he
was named to the all-tournament team. At McKendree Wohlers
averaged seven points and four rebounds a game.
In his one year at Benton HS, Wohlers
averaged 19 points a game and earned all-conference and all-region
honors. He averaged 20 points and ten rebounds a game for his
high school club teams in Germany and played on the National U16,
U18 and U20 teams. |
