Yellowjackets’ Walker Honored by PacWest (Jan. 31, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings
freshman Lucas Walker was named the Pacific West Conference Player
of the Week on Monday.
Walker averaged 24 points and 6.5 rebounds a game last week to
help MSU Billings sweep a pair of PacWest games from Western New
Mexico. The 6-7 freshman played just 14 minutes in Thursday’s
118-70 win, scoring 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting. He added 22
points and eight boards in 22 minutes in Saturday’s 104-76 win.
For the week, Walker was 20-of-32 from the field for a 62.5
percent field goal percentage.
Walker currently ranks sixth in the PacWest
for scoring at 16.3 ppg. He is also fifth for rebounding (6.1),
twelfth for field goal percentage (50.2), thirteenth for free
throw percentage (70.8), fifth for blocked shots (0.72), and tenth
for offensive rebounding (1.78).
The Yellowjackets (12-6, 4-4 PWC) are idle
this week and return to PacWest Conference play on February 8 when
they host Hawaii-Hilo. |
