Yellowjacket Basketball Adds Two Recruits (May
5, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings men’s
basketball coach Craig Carse announced Thursday that two high
school seniors have signed national letters of intent to play for
the Yellowjackets next year.
Carl Johnson is a 6-foot-10, 245-pound
forward from Rapid City, SD. He was a three year letter winner at
Rapid City Central High School. He averaged 12 points, nine
rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots a game for his
career.
As a junior, Johnson was named his team’s
most outstanding player and earned all-state honorable mention
honors. This season he was named to the all-conference second
team. He helped his team to the district championship every year
as well as one regional championship and two state tournament
appearances.
Kid Wilk is a 6-2, 170-pound guard from Rock
Springs, WY. He lettered three times in basketball and twice in
football at Rock Springs High School. As a senior Wilk averaged
17.3 points, 2.5 steals, and three assists per game. He shot 47
percent from 3-point range and 56 percent from the field.
In his senior year Wilk was named the Wyoming
4A player of the year. He was a two-time all-conference
selection, earning all-state honors as a senior. Wilk was also a
4.00 student throughout high school. Rock Springs was 20-5 last
season including a 4A South Regional championship. |
