Munoz Named PacWest Player of the Week (Feb.
14, 2005)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State-Billings junior
guard Cameron Munoz earned player of the week honors on Monday from
the Pacific West Conference. Munoz averaged 27.0 points a game
for the Yellowjackets in three conference wins last week.
On Tuesday Munoz made seven 3-pointers and
scored 27 points in the Jackets’ 105-95 upset of 13th-ranked
Hawaii-Hilo. He netted 23 points with four 3-pointers on Thursday
as MSU Billings defeated Chaminade 82-79. Munoz finished the week
with 31 points and seven 3-pointers in a 102-95 win against
Chaminade. The three victories moved the Yellowjackets into third
place in the PacWest standings with a 7-4 conference mark.
MSU Billings plays three games in Hawaii this week.
For the season, Munoz ranks second in the
PacWest with a 19.5 ppg scoring average. He leads the league in
3-point shooting and free throw percentage. He is averaging 4.16
made 3-pointers per game and shooting 88.6 percent from the line.
Munoz also ranks tenth in the conference for assists (2.58) and
eleventh for 3-point percentage (38.0). |
