Lady Jacket Softball Unbeaten in Colorado (Sept. 25, 2004)
PUEBLO, CO – Yellowjacket softball
ended in a 6-6 tie against Colorado State
University-Pueblo and came out on top 10-3 against
Colorado School of the Mines Saturday. The first game against CSU-Pueblo
ended in a game time limit. The second game was against
Colorado School of the Mines where the Lady Jackets had
two home runs by the end of the third inning.
The Yellowjackets had two runs in the
third, fifth and seventh innings to end in a tie with CSUP.
Cami Rainey (Jr., SS/OF, Terreton, ID) hit a two run
home run in the fifth and was 2-for-4 with three
RBI. Jenna Haacke (Fr., 2B, Billings, MT) went 2-for-4 with a two run home run in the seventh. Joey Ehnes (Jr., P, Great
Falls, MT) pitched six innings and allowed three hits, two
runs and had eight strikeouts. Megan McCrae (Jr., P, Brandon, Manitoba)
pitched the seventh and eighth innings and allowed four
runs and four hits.
The second game of the day started
with School of the Mines leading 1-0 in the top of the
first. Theresa Campbell (Jr. C/OF, Great Falls, MT) hit a
three run homerun to put the Lady Jackets in the lead
3-1. Jenna Haacke went 3-for-3,
had two RBI and
a solo home run. Rachel Quarnburg
(So., 1B, Billings, MT) went 2-for-2 on the game. Jordan Waverek (Jr., P, Kalispell, MT) pitched all six innings
striking out four and allowing seven hits.
The Yellowjackets compete Sunday against University of Northern
Colorado at 10:30 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m. against
Colorado State University. |
