Yellowjacket Harriers to Run at Regionals in Fresno (November 6, 2002)
BILLINGS, MT – The MSU Billings
men’s and women’s cross-country teams will travel to
Fresno, California this weekend to compete in the
NCAA West Region Championships. The meet serves as
a qualifier for the National Championships, which
will be held November 23 in Ashland, Ohio.
Two Yellowjacket women have
posted times this season that could rank them in the
top 15 at the regional meet. Miles City natives Ellen Swogger and Chelsea Lynnes have paced the Lady Jackets all season and will look
to race near the top of the field in Fresno. The
top 15 finishers at the meet earn all-region honors.
The Yellowjacket women’s team
will face three nationally-ranked teams at the meet,
which will feature 23 teams from the West Region.
Chico State, UC-Davis and Cal State-Stanislaus are
ranked No. 7, No. 10 and No. 20 respectively in the
nation entering the regionals. Earlier this season
the Yellowjackets competed against No. 1 Western
State and No. 2 Adams State. |
