Lady Yellowjacket Tennis Drops Two Matches to Open Season (February 8, 2003)

LEWISTON, ID – The MSU Billings women’s tennis team opened its season with two losses.  The Lady Jackets fell to Whitman College 7-2, and to Lewis-Clark State College 8-1.  Rachel Hertz won both of her singles matches, and Becky Fry won one out of two.

Against Whitman, Hertz prevailed 7-5, 6-3 over Carissa Klarich in the #2 match.  Playing at #3, Fry defeated Elizabeth Claxton 6-4, 6-0.  The Jackets dropped their other four singles matches and all three doubles matches.

Against L-C State, Hertz defeated Khaliun Enkhjargal at #1.  Hertz won the first set 7-5 before Enkhjargal retired in the second set. 

The Lady Yellowjackets (0-2) next play at MSU-Bozeman on February 21.
