Rocky (October 10, 2002)
BILLINGS, MT – Three
second-half goals propelled Rocky Mountain College
to a series sweep of the MSU Billings Yellowjackets
on Thursday afternoon at Wendy’s Field. After
playing to a scoreless first half tie, the Bears
netted three goals in a 20-minute span in the second
half to take home the Rimrock Cup.
The opening 45 minutes were a

scoring threats. The Bears out-shot the
Yellowjackets 9-4 in the opening period, with both
goalkeepers tallying three saves.
Rocky was the aggressor in the
second half, firing 13 shots to MSUB’s 4. The
Yellowjackets’ Cori Russell managed three second-half saves, but faced six shots
on goal.

in front of the net. The Bears kept the pressure on
the Jackets for the remainder of the game, scoring
on Krystal Silva’s goal in the 57th minute and Alana DeKorompay’s goal in the 69th minute.
The Yellowjackets fell to 2-10
on the season with the loss, while RMC improved to
6-3-2. With the season sweep, Rocky claimed the
