Roadrunners Race Past Yellowjackets
BILLINGS – In game two of the
MSU Billings Cup Sponsored by Thrifty Car Rental,
Metro State College of Denver used five second-half
goals to run past MSU Billings 7-0 on Saturday
afternoon. Joslyn Brough and Jodi McGann scored two
goals apiece to lead the Roadrunners to victory in
their first game of the season. Metro improved to
1-0 while MSU Billings fell to 0-2.
Just 5:56 into the contest, Amy
Leichliter scored off Louise Kjellquist’s pass,
giving Metro a 1-0 lead. Brough then gave the
Roadrunners a 2-0 lead at 19:35 with her goal, again
assisted by Kjellquist. Metro took the 2-0 lead
into the half.
Brough then opened the second
half scoring barrage with her second goal of the
game. Leichliter was credited with the assist on
Brough’s goal, which was the first of four goals
scored over a span of 10 minutes. Brittany Quillen
scored at 62:33 off Kjellquist’s third assist of the
game. Then McGann scored at 64:50 and 66:42, giving

to get off a shot in the first half and finished the
day with only three total shots. The Yellowjacket’s
goalkeeper Lacey Humbracht recorded 10 saves,
including several diving saves against seemingly
wide open shots.
Metro will face

that contest will take home the Inaugural MSU Billings
