Jackets Fall 4-2 to Utah Valley State
GREELEY, CO – The Montana State
University-Billings women’s soccer team had their
two-game winning streak broken by Utah Valley State,
falling 4-2 in Greeley, Colo. on Saturday
afternoon. Carolyn Theurer scored all four goals in
the game for Utah Valley State.
MSUB took an early 1-0 lead on
Kelly Bryn’s goal at 14:39 off an attack down the
left side. Stephanie Clark was credited with the
assist. However, Theurer scored three times before
the half, putting the Wolverines ahead 3-1 at the
break.
Margot-Merrill-Johnson drew the
Yellowjackets to within 3-2 when she scored on a
penalty kick at 55:07, but that was as close as MSUB
would get. Theurer netted her fourth goal at 71:38
to seal the victory.
The Lady Jackets were out-shot
20-10 in the game. Freshman goalkeeper Lacey
Humbracht stopped nine shots.
MSU Billings will face No. 13
Northern Colorado on Sunday. |
