Lady
Jackets Soccer to Play First Road Games of the Year (September 11, 2002)
BILLINGS – The Montana State
University-Billings women’s soccer team hits the
road this weekend trying to extend a two-game
winning streak. The Lady Jackets will travel to
Greeley, Colorado for games against Utah Valley
State and Northern Colorado.
The Yellowjackets have won
their last two matches, defeating both Wayne State
and the University of Lethbridge at the Rocky
Mountain College Tournament last weekend. MSUB will
enter the weekend with an NCAA record of 1-2.
MSU Billings will face Utah
Valley State College on Saturday, September 14.
Since UVSC is a two-year school, the game will not
count toward the Yellowjackets’ official record.
On Sunday the Jackets will face
Northern Colorado, which is ranked No. 13 in the
nation and No. 2 in the Central Region. Northern
Colorado is 2-0-1 on the season. The Bears opened
their season by defeating No. 10 Regis and Central
Missouri. Last week they played to a 0-0 tie with
No. 6 Truman State.
Note: The game against
Northern Colorado will be the 97th game
in the history of the MSU Billings women’s soccer
program. Their 100th game will come on
September 22 when they play at Whitman College. |
