Lady
Yellowjackets Enter Stretch Run Ranked Fourth (February 19, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – With just four
games remaining in the 2002-03 regular season, the
MSU Billings Lady Yellowjackets remain in the No. 4
spot in this week’s NCAA West Region poll. The
Yellowjackets (14-6) have been fourth for three
straight weeks.
MSUB will play its final
in-region games this week when the Jackets host
Western New Mexico on Saturday and Sunday. Two wins
in those two games could lock up the Yellowjackets’
second straight NCAA Tournament berth. MSUB enters
the week with an 11-3 mark against regional
competition. A 13-3 regional record would almost
assure the Lady Yellowjackets of a spot in the West
Region’s top eight.
Seattle Pacific remained
unbeaten and No. 1 this week, followed by Cal
State-Bakersfield and Western Washington. The
top-ranked team at the end of the season will host
the regional tournament, with the top eight teams
qualifying.
