Lady Yellowjackets Fall to Lady Griz (November 25, 2002)
MISSOULA, MT – The MSU Billings
Yellowjackets lost their first game of the 2002-2003
women’s basketball season, falling 68-52 to the
University of Montana Monday night.
After falling behind 40-26 at
halftime, the Yellowjackets battled back to within
three points in the second half, but couldn’t catch
the Grizzlies. Senior Jessica Bachmann led all scorers with 18 points in the game. Natalie Visger added 17 points and nine rebounds as MSUB fell to
2-1 and UM improved to 2-0.
The Yellowjackets only shot
30-percent in the game compared to 37-percent for
the Grizzlies. UM also enjoyed a 51-39 rebound
advantage. Hollie Tyler led the Lady Griz with 16
points and 10 rebounds for her 11th career double-double.
MSU Billings senior center Jessie Henigman blocked four shots in the game, giving her 16 in the
first three games of the season. Henigman was in
the top 15 in the nation last year and holds the
MSUB school record with 187 career blocked shots.
Sophomore Robyn Milne also blocked four shots and grabbed 11 rebounds.
MSU Billings returns home
Friday and Saturday to host St. Martin’s College
from Lacey, Washington. Tip-off for Friday’s game
will be 7:00 p.m. at Alterowitz Gymnasium.
Saturday’s game will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. |
