Lady
Jackets Announce First Basketball Recruits (May 6, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – Two Montana high school recruits have
signed national letters of intent to play for the
Yellowjackets next season. Post players Sophia
Forney from Livingston, Montana, and Alisa Lordemann
from Glendive, Montana, will join the Yellowjackets
for the 2003-2004 season as MSUB tries for its third
straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Forney and
Lordemann will fill the gap left by the graduation
of Jessie Henigman, who finished No. 16 in NCAA II
history for career blocked shots.
Lordemann was a 2001 graduate
of Dawson County HS where she was a first team
all-conference and all-state selection as a junior
and senior. She was selected to play in the
Montana-Wyoming All-Star Game after averaging 20
points and eight rebounds per game as a senior. The
6-foot-0 forward has played at Miles Community
College for the past two seasons where she earned
all-conference and all-region first team honors.
She averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game
for the Lady Pioneers.
Forney, a 6-1 post player,
graduated from Park County HS this spring after
attending Billings Skyview HS for much of her high
school career. She averaged 13.2 points and eight
rebounds a game for the Lady Rangers last year en
route to being named to the Class A All-State team.
Along with being selected as the Lady Ranger
Offensive MVP, she also led the Eastern A Division
in steals and blocked 1.2 shots per game. Forney
earned Eastern AA All-Conference honors as a junior
as Skyview. |
