Lady Jackets to Open New Year in Hawaii (December 31, 2002)
BILLINGS, MT – The MSU Billings
women’s basketball team will play January 2 and 3 at
a tournament in Laie, HI. The Lady Jackets will
face Seattle University on January 2 and
Alaska-Fairbanks on January 3. Both games will be
broadcast live in Billings on AM 970 KBUL, and on
the internet at www.msubillings.edu/athletics.
The Yellowjackets are 10-2
after a pair of wins at Western Oregon last week.
Those wins followed a 77-69 win at Northwest
Nazarene on December 20. NNU was ranked 3rd in the West Region at the time. The Yellowjackets
were No. 7.
Both games in Hawaii will be
important West Region games for the Yellowjackets,
who have built a 9-1 record within the region.
Seattle enters the tournament with a 5-3 record
while Alaska-Fairbanks is 4-3. MSU Billings will
need to finish the season ranked in the top eight in
the West Region to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
Tip-off for Thursday’s game
against Seattle is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. MST.
Friday’s match-up with Alaska-Fairbanks will start
at 7:00 p.m. MST.
MSU Billings will return home
to host Carroll College on January 10 and Montana
Tech on January 20. |
