Yellowjacket Volleyball
Team Signs Setter (May 12, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – MSU Billings head volleyball coach
Pa’ulasi Matavao has announced that he has signed one of his top recruits,
setter Natalie Bills (5-foot-6 sophomore) from Provo, Utah. Bills, who
graduated in 2002 from Provo High School, played last season at Snow
College where she earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a
freshman.
Bills led Provo High School to back-to-back Utah
State 4A titles in 1999 and 2000. In addition to earning all-region
honors three times, Bills was selected as a 4A All-Star as a senior in
2001 and earned first team all-state honors as a junior and a senior. In
addition to the two state championships, Prove HS also won regional titles
in 1998, 2000 and 2001.
“She’ll be more experienced than what her years
indicate,” said Matavao, “because she’s played a lot of club volleyball
and she was also the starting setter at her high school since she was a
sophomore. She may start for us next year, or at least be very
competition for the spot. She’s small, but she makes up for it with court
awareness and being a very smart player. Her size is the only thing that
probably kept her from playing at a higher level.” |
