MSU Billings Volleyball Falls at Western New Mexico (November 1, 2002)
SILVER CITY, NM – The Lady Yellowjacket volleyball
team lost three straight games at Western New Mexico Friday night in a
Pacific West Conference match. It was the Mustangs’ first conference win
of the season as WNMU improved to 16-11, 1-7 in the PacWest. MSU Billings
fell to 7-15, 2-6.
MSU Billings was led by Kari Gerretsen’s seven
kills. She also added 14 digs. Libero Mandi Paulson notched a match-high
23 digs, but the Yellowjackets were out-hit .163 to .057. Cortney Metzler had 17 digs, Olivia Munro added 12, and Krissy Janney finished with 10.
Janney also had 25 assists.
The Yellowjackets and Mustangs will play a
non-conference match on Saturday night before MSU Billings returns home
for its final four matches of the season. They will host Hawaii-Hilo on
November 8 and 9 and Hawaii Pacific on November 11 and 12. |
