Rocky Sweeps Yellowjackets (September 24, 2002)
BILLINGS – Rocky Mountain College swept the MSU Billings
Yellowjackets 3-0 Tuesday night in college volleyball action at Alterowitz
Gymnasium. The Bears won 30-26, 30-23, 30-26 to improve to 9-3 on the
season. MSUB fell to 5-9.
Rocky’s Libby Torma led all players with 16 kills in
the match. The Bears’ Tiffani Bauer added 14 kills while Kelsey Williams
had a match-high 25 digs. Tess Morrison directed the Bears’ offense with
39 assists.
The Yellowjackets were paced by Kari Gerretsen’s 9
kills and 13 digs. Katrina Dahlgren added 8 kills and Mandi Paulson had
13 digs. Senior setter Krissy Janney notched 29 kills on the night.
The Yellowjackets’ offense never got untracked,
hitting .043 and .048 respectively in games two and three. Meanwhile,
Rocky hit .184 for the match despite 23 attack errors. The difference was
Rocky’s 71 digs to MSUB’s 55.
MSU Billings is off until October 4 and 5 when the
Yellowjackets host PacWest Conference opponent Western New Mexico
