Lady Yellowjackets Host RMC on Tuesday (September 23,
2002)
BILLINGS – MSU Billings will host cross-town foe
Rocky Mountain College in college volleyball action on Tuesday night at
Alterowitz Gymnasium. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
MSU Billings recently returned from Hawaii after
playing four conference matches in five days. The Yellowjackets finished
the trip at 1-3 after coming from behind to defeat Hawaii-Hilo last
Tuesday. The Jackets were down 2-0, but rallied to win the final three
games of the match for their first win in Hawaii since October of 2000.
“I think coming back to win against a pretty good
team on the road will give us some confidence,” said Yellowjacket head
coach Pa’ulasi Matavao. “By the time we played Hilo, we were tired and
needed a lift. We put together a rally in the third game and just got
rolling.”
MSU Billings is 5-8 overall this season and 1-3 in
PacWest play. Sophomore outside hitter Olivia Munro was named the PacWest
Player of the Week after averaging double-digit kills and digs against
Hawaii Pacific and Hawaii Hilo.
MSU Billings has won eight of the last 12 meetings
with Rocky, including both matches last year. The Yellowjackets downed
the Bears 3-0 at the Fortin Center and 3-2 at Alterowitz. |
