Yellowjackets Named to Softball All-Tournament Team (March 26, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – Four
MSU Billings players highlighted the 10-player
Yellowjacket Invitational All-Tournament team that
was released today. Megan McCrae earned MVP honors
after winning three of the Yellowjackets’ four games
without allowing an earned run. She also earned
Co-PacWest Player of the Week honors for her three
outings, in which she struck out 22 batters.
The Yellowjackets won the
round-robin tournament with a 4-0 record. Minot
State, Jamestown, and Dawson CC each finished 2-2.
Valley City State was winless in four games. Minot
State had three players on the all-tournament team.
Dawson CC had two while Jamestown and Valley City
had one player apiece.
McCrae didn’t allow an earned
run in 14 2/3 innings at the tournament while
striking out 22 batters. She lowered her season ERA
to 2.61 and increased her season strikeout total to
56. Joining McCrae on the all-tournament team from
the Yellowjackets were Stephanie Cochrun, Layne
Pavey, and Joey Ehnes.
