Yellowjackets’ McCrae Earns Player of the Week Honors (March 24, 2003)

BILLINGS, MT – MSU Billings pitcher Megan McCrae (sophomore, Brandon, Manitoba) was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week Monday.  McCrae was the tournament MVP at this past weekend’s Yellowjacket Invitational after winning all three of her appearances.

McCrae didn’t allow an earned run in 14 2/3 innings at the tournament while striking out 22 batters.  She was 4-0 overall for the week after winning a 3-1 decision over Minot State the day before the tournament started. 

With the dominating outings this weekend, McCrae lowered her season ERA to 2.61 and moved into third place in the PacWest for strikeouts with 56.  She is also fourth among PacWest pitchers for opposing batting average at .210.
