Yellowjackets Sign
Soccer Player from Hawaii (June 4, 2003)
BILLINGS, MT – MSU Billings men’s soccer
coach Doug Seigle announced Wednesday that Patrick Boltz has
signed a national letter of intent to join the Yellowjackets for
the 2003 fall season. Boltz, originally from Kaneohe, Hawaii,
attended two years at Seattle Pacific University where he earned
one varsity letter.
A 1998 graduate of Punahou School in
Honolulu, HI, Boltz helped lead Punahou School to state titles in
1996 and 1998 and a runner-up finish in 1997. He earned
all-league and all-state first team honors as both a junior and a
senior and was named Hawaii’s NSCAA Player of the Year in 1998.
He was also selected as the Honolulu Bulletin Player of the
Year in his senior year. Boltz saw some playing time for SPU as a
true freshman in 1998 when the Falcons advanced to the NCAA
semifinals. He has been playing in an adult amateur league since
2000.
“He’s a player,” said Seigle of the 6-foot-0,
195 pound defender. “He’s going to have a great chance to start
for us next year. He’s a big, strong player who is a great
organizer and communicator in the back. He’ll definitely give our
defense a solid presence and help us play the physical style that
we like.” |
