Yellowjackets Fall to Humboldt in Men’s Soccer (October 13, 2002)
NAMPA, ID – MSU Billings outplayed Humboldt
State everywhere except on the scoreboard as the Yellowjackets
fell 1-0 in men’s soccer action Sunday. The Lumberjacks scored
the game’s only goal in the 55th minute.
MSU Billings (5-9) out-shot Humboldt State
(3-10-1) 11-9 in the game, but Lumberjacks goalkeeper Justin
Gyenis save eight shots on the day, including five in the first
half. The Yellowjackets put three shots on goal in the final 45
minutes, but were unable to come up with the score.
Splitting time for the second game in a row,
Yellowjacket goalkeepers Kevin Petritz and Yacine Zerizef combined
for five saves. Petritz stopped four first-half shots to improve
his save percentage to .639. Yacine faced only two shots-on-goal
in the second half, saving one. Geoff Scott’s sidekick in the 55th minute found the net to give HSU the win. Yacine’s save
percentage is now .696.
The Yellowjackets will travel to Denver to
face Regis University on Friday and will play Colorado Christian
University in Lakewood on Sunday. |
