Yellowjackets Shutout Northwest Nazarene in
Men's Soccer

Nampa, ID – Mike Gallegos and Joe Ferguson scored goals
within five minutes of each other in the second half to lead MSU Billings
to a 3-0 win over Northwest Nazarene on Saturday. The
Yellowjackets improved to 5-8 with the win and swept the season
series against NNU.
Kyle Bales netted the
first goal of the game for the Yellowjackets, scoring his second
goal of the season from 35 yards out in the 16th minute.
Goalkeeper Kevin Petritz saved two
shots in the opening half.
Gallegos's fifth goal of
the year came in the 79th minute when Hugh Kinnear's pass led to
a shot that deflected off the goalkeeper's hands into the net.
Freshman Joe Ferguson closed out the scoring in the 84th minute
with an assists from fellow freshman Jesse Spann. It was
Ferguson's third goal of the year and Spann's fifth point.
Freshman goalkeeper Yacine Zerizef was in net
for the Yellowjackets in the second half, recording two saves to
complete the shutout.
The Yellowjackets will
face Humboldt State Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. The game
will be played at Northwest Nazarene. |
