Yellowjackets Picked No. 22 in NCAA Preseason Poll,
No. 2 in PacWest Coaches’ Poll
BILLINGS, MT – The MSU Billings
Yellowjackets were ranked No. 22 in the nation
Tuesday in the NCAA preseason men’s basketball
poll. The Yellowjackets are the defending Pacific
West Conference Champions and finished with an
overall record of 21-7 last year.
Even though MSU Billings is the
only PacWest school in the NCAA top 25, the
Yellowjackets were picked to finish second behind
BYU-Hawaii in a poll of the conference’s coaches.
MSU Billings received 21 points and two first place
votes to finish one point behind the Seasiders in
the poll. BYU-Hawaii received three first place
votes and 22 points.
MSU Billings currently holds
the second longest home winning streak in the nation
at 33 games. No. 1-ranked Kentucky Wesleyan has the
longest current home winning streak at 39 games.
The Yellowjackets will open the
2002-03 season on November 23 when they host Cal
State-San Bernardino, the defending West Region
champion. |
