Men’s Soccer Ranked Among National Stats Leaders

BILLINGS, Mont. – The
Montana State Billings men’s soccer program broke into the
national statistical rankings for games played through
September 9. Posting a 5-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 Great
Northwest Athletic Conference record, the Jackets are
proving to be a program that should be reckoned with.
The Yellowjackets, as a
team, hold the top spot in the nation for goals against
average (0.00) and shutout percentage (1.0). The team also
ranks 15th nationally in both scoring offense
(3.25) and won-loss-tied percentage (1.0).
Several Yellowjacket
players are also ranked in individual categories. Sam
Charles (Weymouth, England) ranks fifth for points per game
(3.75) and fourth for goals per game (1.75). In goal Sander
Tollefson (Missoula) ranks first for both goals against
average (0.00) and save percentage (1.0).
Also earning recognition
is Chris Andre (Billings) who ranks 103rd for
points per game (1.5) and 67th for goals per game
(0.67). Matt D’Hont (Rapid City, S.D.) is 76th for goals per game (0.67) while teammates Scott Dixon
(Dorset, England) and Josh Hernandez (Palmdale, Calif.) rank
20th and 80th respectively for assists
per game (0.75, 0.50).
The Yellowjackets host
Great Northwest Athletic Conference opponents Seattle
University on Friday and Saint Martin’s University on
Sunday. Friday’s game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. while
Sunday’s match is set for 1:30 p.m. at the College of
Technology.
